    Teachers:  You must bring in or make arrangements to have sent to Central Office the following:

    • Service Records
    • Original College Transcripts

    Classroom Aides:  You must bring in a copy of your Aide Certificate or obtain instructions on how to complete this process.  You have 90 days from date of hire to have your certificate.
    If you have college hours and/or degree, a copy of your college transcript is needed for your file.

Student Teacher Information

  • The following steps must be completed in order to become a Student Teacher at Marion ISD:

    1. Prospective student teacher should contact Angelia Watson, Director of Human Resources, by email at awatson@marionisd.net. Please indicate in the email the university or program you are attending and the grade level and/or subject area you wish to student teach. If you are a placement officer at a university or alternate teaching prep program, please email the name of the prospective student teacher and grade level and/or subject area.
    2. Human Resources will respond indicating availability of placement and the contact information of the campus principal for the prospective student teacher to set up an interview.
    3. If accepted, prospective student teacher must complete the attached forms and return to Human Resources before student teaching is to begin.

    This is information on the FICA alternative plan that is mandatory for all employees who are employed as substitutes or less than half time.  This is for information only.

  • Class Room Substitute Pay:
    $94.00 per day for Non-certified/Non-degreed (GED or High School Diploma Required)
    $99.00 per day for Degreed or 60+ college hours(accredited College or University)
    $104.00 per day for Certified Teacher (With Valid Teaching Certificate)

    April/May Extra Incentive
    To work on Mondays and Fridays, increase the daily rate by $10.00 per day for each category listed above.

Volunteer Information

  • If you would like to volunteer in a classroom, on a campus, on a field trip, mentor, or chaperone
    students, you must complete this application and submit the original signed copy to the campus
    office.


    This form MUST be returned to the campus office and be cleared by campus administration prior to any volunteer activities. A completed CCH Form must be submitted along with this form if you are not a parent, guardian or grandparent.

Retirement & Resignation Information

  • Retiring Employees

    Employees considering retirement are encouraged to first contact the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS):

    Ask to speak with a benefits counselor, who can advise you on retirement eligibility, determine your retirement month, and assist with calculating your retirement annuity.

    If you have not already done so, please visit the TRS website to set up your MyTRS account. This account allows you to run retirement calculations; however, you should always confirm details directly with TRS for accuracy.

    Once you have confirmed your eligibility and received your retirement packet from TRS, please contact Human Resources to discuss district-level retirement requirements and next steps.

    Before leaving the district, be sure to complete your exit interview and review the district’s sick leave pay incentive, if applicable.

  • Resigning Employees

    Employees who plan to resign should submit a letter of resignation to their campus supervisor or the Superintendent. The letter should be written, signed, and dated; email submissions are discouraged.

    Prior to leaving the campus, employees must complete an exit interview with Human Resources and return all district-issued equipment and keys. The exit interview includes a section for employees to provide feedback and evaluate their experience with the district. Please complete this section and submit it to Human Resources.

    Additionally, employees should contact the Payroll Department regarding benefits, final paychecks, and forwarding address information. Employees are encouraged to stop by Payroll to discuss available options and ensure a smooth transition.

Payroll Information

In accordance with district policy, all employees are paid on the 15th of each month through direct deposit. If the scheduled payday falls on a weekend or bank holiday, payroll will be processed on the preceding business day.

Employees may access their wage and earnings statements—detailing gross pay, deductions, withholdings, and accumulated leave—through the Employee Access Portal available on the district website.

As a courtesy, wage and earnings statements are also emailed to employees with an active district email account. For questions, please contact the Payroll Department at 830-914-2803.
