FICA Alternative Plan
This is information on the FICA alternative plan that is mandatory for all employees who are employed as substitutes or less than half time. This is for information only.
FICA ALTERNATIVE INFORMATION
If you leave the district and you want to roll-over your account or request a distribution, you must use this form
Beginning with the 2015-2016 School year, all Substitutes must either accept or decline health insurance coverage. See letter Substitute Health Insurance . This is not a MISD choice, but due to the Patient Care Affordability Act. Call Central Office for more details. Again, this is not a choice.
Class Room Substitute Pay:
$65.00 per day for Non-certified/Non-degreed (GED or High School Diploma Required)
$70.00 per day for Degreed or 60+ college hours(accredited College or University)
$75.00 per day for Certified Teacher (With Valid Teaching Certificate)
April/May Extra Incentive
To work on Mondays and Fridays, increase the daily rate by $10.00 per day for each category listed above.
Long Term Sub, on the 21st day, pay will be increased to 1.5 times daily rate
